Can someone help me with a precipitation reaction?

I was doing a precipitation reaction using iron sulphate and concentrated sulphuric acid. iron sulphate was added to a sample solution of water. then sulphuric acid was added . this caused and exothermic reaction and a brown ring was formed. this proves potium nitrate was present. Can someone give me the word equation and the symbol equation
