Outside references and things that alludes to books?

For english extra credit, we can bring in references or allusions to any of the authors or novels we have read this year so does anyone know of any thing that goes with the great gatsby, f scott fitzgerald, catcher in the rye, j. d salinger, edgar allen poe, gl mengerie, tennesse williams, the scarlet letter, nathinal hawthorne, and etc (an ex would be in the show gilmore girls where rory calls jess a holden caulfield) thankssss
