Is there a conflict between science and religion?

I believe that they are two separate things that cannot be intertwined. Science deals with the senses and using results to predict future outcomes, while religion is about existence of things (sorry for such a broad term) outside of the five senses. One can never prove or disprove (scientifically) the existence of a god because it would fall outside of the realms of science.
