Is female nudity more controversial than male nudity?

From movies or doentaries I've watched, mainly between PG and MA ratings, there seems to be less restraint on male nudity than female nudity. Films such as the Terminator, the Full Monty and Braveheart feature male nudity. I've seen a PG doentary where there was a bit of full frontal male nudity. Most streakers throughout history are primarily male. Yet people seem ok with it but there seems to be much restraint on showing female nudity and it also seems to be more controversial as to how it is disrespectful and objectifies women. What are your thoughts on this?
