Eye contact question!?!?!?
Shame on you picking on poor Hershey, no wonder he is sticking his tongue out at you. ( Just kidding) Well you are right, it is a dominance thing and you won, however, I don't like this is a form of training. I think it has a tendency to provoke the dog, often when the dog is just eating a bone, minding his own business, and then when the dog bites the owner, they blame the dog. I think you are doing a fine job with Hershey, and you don't need to do this with him. I know there are people that do this with their dogs, but I don't, I think it provokes the dog, and frankly you are doing a really good job with Hershey, you don't need to agitate him. You said yourself that when he jumps on the bed uninvited, you take him off the bed, you were doing it right. I guess it is up to you if you think Hershey needs this kind of training, but I think you are doing just fine without it, however, every owner has to do what is best for them and their dog, so ultimately it is up to you.
