Can anyone give me ideas of a good book to read?

I've been looking for a good book to read, you know, one that I can't put down. I've been to library and picked up various authors and titles and when I start reading them I'm just not gripped from the start and they start to really annoy me after about halfway through. I love Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella along with Dan Brown. I'm sure you understand what books I like (I know nothing too intellectual) but just can't seem to find a book at the moment that has the humph to keep me reading. I also like true crime stories but funnily enough don't like gory fiction. So anyway, can you help me find a book that I can read from start to finish?
